Hotlink Partners with Google to offer “Google Apps”

Hotlink wireless is pleased to announce that we have formed a strategic partnership with Google to host our email and portal services. This is a very exciting change, as it will enable us to provide you with latest email technology through Google’s dynamic suite of communication applications. 

We expect the Google migration to be implemented immediately.  We hope you share our enthusiasm regarding this upgrade.

Please note that your email addresses will not change and we have worked very hard to make this change as seamless as possible. In addition, this change will not impact any aspect of your Internet connection.

7.3 Gigabytes of email storage

• That is over a 20 fold increase over the current limit.  Every mail account will have a very convenient anti-spam feature.  Mail classified as spam is moved into a folder with that name.  Spam not caught can be moved into that folder at the click of a button and is instantly reported to the spam-analysis servers to help adjust your anti-spam profile.  Similarly, legitimate email incorrectly classified as spam can be moved from the spam folder to the inbox at the click of a button.  The same analysis procedure takes place to adjust your profile and you also have the option of white listing the sender.  All of this is done without having to check any other website or web pages.

A short but sweet message from me to you.


1)  We're the only high-speed internet provider that is LOCALLY OWNED!  Our office and data centre are located in Spruce Grove, on the corner of King Street and Grove Drive.  Our kids go to school with your kids, our staff live in your subdivisions, and we REALLY SUPPORT OUR COMMUNITY!
P.S. My wife and I (and our four kids) live on an acreage here in Parkland County, just West of the fantastic Muir Lake school, where three of our kids go to school. The youngest one isn't quite old enough yet, but give her another couple of years and she'll be there too!

2)  Our QUALITY OF SERVICE is unmatched. We've made a major effort to keep our network growing faster than our subscriber base. We have NEVER and WILL NEVER OVERSUBSCRIBE our network.  Please DO call around to anyone you know who has our competition's service and ask what kind of speeds they are REALLY getting (hint: it's not what they're advertising).

3)  We CARE ABOUT YOUR SERVICE, WE RESPECT YOUR HOME, AND WE WILL MAKE SURE YOUR INSTALLATION LOOKS GREAT WHEN IT'S FINISHED.  Our installer's name is Kurtis, and he happens to be my brother.  He is also a partner in our company... and I will assure you that he is one of THE friendliest, most courteous, and respectful guys you will ever meet.  When your service is hooked up, the wires won't be hanging all over the place and the dish won't blow off your house or make your roof leak. Not to bash anyone else, but Kurt can tell you some stories.

4)  RESPONSE TIME.  If your service is ever down (not likely but it happens in this business) Kurt will be out there right away - usually the same day or the next day at worst. Ask the other guys how long it will take to get a service tech out to fix your internet when you're trying to login to your webbanking or FaceBook on Sunday afternoon. What? Two weeks or so? That's GREAT!

5)  NOW THE BIGGEST ISSUE… THE COST - CAN WE COMPETE?!?  We use the INDUSTRY LEADING Motorola Wireless equipment.  It's not cheap crap made in some factory in China for 35cents a unit.  We chose to use the best equipment because we wanted to be able to offer you the MOST RELIABLE SERVICE.   It costs us right around $550 for every new customer we welcome to the Hotlink family.  We do installs for $375... so let's do some math. Every new customer we bring in costs us about $175 right off the top.  It takes a lot of capital to be able to do that, so we can only grow as quickly as finances allow.  THE PROBLEM... That makes our installation costs higher than some of the other guys. So the other guys are charging $99??!?!  HOW CAN THEY DO THAT? Or more importantly WHY WOULD THEY DO THAT? Well first of all let's not forget their $50 “activation fee”, so we're really comparing their $150 "basic" install to our $375 professional install.  Even though our install is probably prettier, we still lose that one by $225. Damn!

So what can we do?  Our only defence is to make our potential subscribers as good of an offer as we can possibly afford to do!  That my friends brings me to the grand finale (I feel like that Ron Popeel guy now. It slices, it dices, it... well you know what I mean). Our offer to you:  a $199 professional install*.  Can we afford to do that?  Not really, but the reality is, can we afford NOT to do it?  SO please take advantage of this offer and give us a chance to serve you with what I humbly believe to be the BEST INTERNET SERVICE around, which also happens to be locally owned.
